Making Money With Lists - Day 7
Day 7 - Making Money With Lists ================================
There is a good chance that you are reading this email due to the fact that you are on one of my email lists. The reason I was able to contact you (and thousands of others) was due to me owning an email list.
A list is basically a list of names and email addresses of people who have opted-in to receive info or updates from me
A confirmed "opt-in" is when a subscriber requests to be on your list, you send them a confirming email message, and they respond to that message indicating that the original request was from them and they really want to be on your list. You had to opt-in to receive these emails. There are two types of lists that you can build:
1) RSS subscribers
2) Email opt-ins
Let's start with RSS subscribers.
RSS = Really Simple Syndication
The best option for RSS is Feedburner
Simply go to FeedBurner.com for a free account. Your blog feed is almost certainly going to be yourDomain.com/feed For email , you have two options
1) aweber.com
2) iContact.com
I personally use www.aweber.com and would recommend it... a lot of my friends and contacts also use aweber.
Unfortunately, people won't just join your list out of kindness... you will need to bribe them.
The most effective way to do this is to offer them something in exchange, for example, you can offer them a 5-page guide to xxxxxx
Replace the above with the subject of your choice.
This will dramatically increase the amount of people that join your list.
As a rule, it is said that you can make approx $1 per month for every person on your list. * 100 people on your list = $100 per month = $1,200 per year
* 1,000 = $1,000 per month = $12,000 per year
* 10,000 = $10,000 per month = $120,000 per year
So how exactly do you make money from your blog and email lists?
We will reveal the details tomorrow, so stay tuned.
