BuzzProfits Tip of the Week ===========================================

What the Heck is Buzz Marketing?

If you have been around long enough, you may have heard the term

"buzz marketing"... but is this just a latest buzz word? (pun

intended) Or is it a viable strategy that anyone can use to

generate lots of lovely free traffic?

Dean Hunt here... I am considered the¨"leader" in buzz marketing,

and I travel the world speaking about it on stage, at seminars and

at private masterminds.. so needless to say, I am a little bias. So

rather than preach to you and tell you it is something you need...

I prefer to give an overview of it, and if you think it is for you,

great, if not, no worries.

So what the heck is buzz marketing?

For me, it is the art of creating excitement, interest and

activity... there is buzz when a hot new Hollywood movie comes out,

there is buzz prior to a big sports game, there is buzz when a band

release a catchy new tune... but how can people such as you and I,

people without million dollar media budgets, create this same

activity?

Ultimately, to create buzz, you need to push some buttons,

specifically, the buttons in the human brain-sack that we call "the

mind."

If we can tap into these emotional triggers, then we can generate a

required response, in most cases, this is when people talk about

us.

You see, if you create something truly buzz-worthy, people will

talk about it, they will email their friend, submit to sites like

Digg.com, mention it on forums, twitter etc... all of this is free

promotion, and if it spreads enough, you will have created a viral

message that spreads and multiplies at a rapid speed.

Buzz, is the action that creates the viral phenomenon, so master

buzz, and you will master viral marketing by default. Without buzz,

there can be no viral.

What are the buttons I need to push?

Any strong emotional response is great, but there are six buttons

in particular that seem to work over and over again:

1) Taboo

2) The unusual

3) The outrageous

4) The hilarious

5) The remarkable

6) The secret

You can simplify this further by either making people laugh, making

people cry, or making people say "WOW".

Do any of those three, and you will be successful online.

And remember the golden rule: It is better to have 50% of people

love you and 50% hate you than have 100% think you are ok. It is

also a LOT more profitable.

Today let´s quickly look at number 5 on the list: "remarkable"...

this word is often mis-understood, it literally means remark-able,

i.e something to be remarked upon. So try this quick experiment,

next time you are writing a piece of content, whether it be a

newsletter, email, blog post, forum post or article... ask

yourself, "what could I do to make this remark-able".

Let your imagination go wild, focus on the ´what if´and worry about

the "how" afterwards.

I have received well over 2 million unique visitors to my content

via these techniques, I have been on the homepage of every major

social media site on the net, been in national newspapers, been

discusseed in over 24 languages (that I know of), and have built a

nice business, all without spending a dime on advertising or

promotion.

If you are willing to spend a little time, think big, and have some

fun, there are no limits on what can be achieved with buzz

marketing.

For over 50 blueprints, exploits and strategies on creating buzz,

creative thinking and buzz branding, plus a copy of my book "web

traffic org*sm", and direct access to me to ask any questions about

your business, your site, or your content, join www.buzzprofits.com

today and be part of our remark-able family.

Many thanks, and stay remark-able.

Dean Hunt
